Rare WWII Ship Lantern – Navigation Light by Schilbach (1944)

The glass is officially stamped and dated 1944, adding to its historical significance. Inside, you’ll find the original divider and sliding slots for colored glass inserts (not included), confirming its two-color functionality.

What makes this lamp truly remarkable is its wartime construction: apart from one screw, there are no brass or copper parts—a rare deviation from standard practice, likely due to material shortages in Germany during 1944.

Condition Details:

• The oil reservoir is a later replacement; the flame sits slightly lower than intended, but this prevents glare through the lens.
• Original front plate is worn and partially illegible.
